@2pe3galeria Daniel G. Andújar is a visual artist, theoretician, and activist who works and lives in Barcelona. Through interventions in public space and a critical use of digital media and the communication strategies of the corporations connected to it, the theoretical and artistic work developed by Daniel G. Andújar (Almoradí, Alicante, Spain, 1966) oscillates between territories that are real (the city) and virtual (the Net).
Daniel G. Andújar’s Let’s Democratise Democracy is an ongoing project initiated in 2011, where the message was first carried by a banner attached to a small airplane flying along the Spanish coastline, inviting people to document and participate in the work’s unfolding.
“The message was communicated on a banner attached to a small airplane […] and people were encouraged to document the banner’s route and upload material […] to participate in the creation of a collective work.”
“Art must be a sign of resistance to a political model that is increasingly hierarchical, diffuse, global and standardized.”
2/3 Galeria is pleased to invite you to the *opening of Tissues of Belonging*, curated by Alec Bălășescu, on *April 29, 2026*, at *7 PM*.
Bringing together works by *Daniel Andújar, James Clar, Chus García-Fraile, Ferenc Gróf, Igor Grubić, Andreea Ilie, Pravdoliub Ivanov, Radu Jude, Cezar Lăzărescu, Glenda León, Ciprian Mureșan, Dan Perjovschi, Ghenadie Popescu, George Roșu, Cătălin Rulea, Avelino Sala, Michael Schäfer, Sasho Stoitzov, and Mona Vătămanu & Florin Tudor*, the exhibition marks the opening chapter of the broader program _In the Shadow of the Flag: Dialogues for Democracy_.
Through installations, moving image, photography, and critical interventions, _Tissues of Belonging_ examines the symbolic, political, and emotional structures that shape contemporary identities. Focusing on national symbols, flags, and the visual language of belonging, the exhibition reflects on how identity is constructed, mobilized, and increasingly instrumentalized within today’s shifting democratic and populist landscapes.
Positioned at the intersection of historical memory, political critique, and cultural production, the project invites audiences to reconsider the fragile fabric of collective belonging and the ideological forces embedded within its symbols.
The Bucharest chapter will also include *a public debate featuring Eric Storm, Daniel Andújar, and Alec Bălășescu on May 27*, alongside *workshops led by Daniel Andújar*, extending the exhibition into an active platform for dialogue, exchange, and civic reflection.
